Tems hits the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-breaking fifth time.

Tems, a legendary afrobeats performer, set a record for most Nigerian entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Beyonce’s “Move,” which debuted at number 55 on the chart for the week of August 13, 2022, marked her fifth appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her history.

The singer infused Beyonce’s new song, “Move,” with her legendary Afrobeats vibes and exquisite melodies. She is credited with penning the song for Beyonce’s latest album, “RENAISSANCE,” which also features Grace Jones.

After “Essence(remix)” ft. Wizkid & Justin Beiber, which peaked at No. 9, and Drake’s “Fountains,” which peaked at No. 26 in September 2016, “Move” becomes her fifth single. also “Wait for You” featuring Future and Drake, which reached number one on the charts (at No.1.). Additionally, she recently achieved her first solo entry with her 2020 single, “Free Mind,” which debuted at number 90.

Tems currently holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a Nigerian musician, breaking a four-entry tie with Afrobeats icon Wizkid.

As the only African musician with four Billboard Hot 100 entries, Wizkid had previously held the record. His number-one worldwide smash and BET Best Collaboration winner, “Essence” with Justin Beiber and Tems, ran 35 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 9, behind Drake’s One Dance, Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl, Chris Brown’s Call me Everyday, and Beyonce.

Tems presently has three songs in the top 100; her first solo entry “Free Mind,” which peaked at #77, has been there for three weeks, and Future’s Wait for you ft. The fifth Drake single has been in the top 10 for 14 weeks.

Following her important contribution to American superstar artist Future’s blockbuster and Billboard Top Charting song “Wait For U,” the BET and Billboard Award-winning music sensation most recently received an MTV VMAs nomination for “Best Hip Hop Video.”

The incredible singer-songwriter has had a fantastic year. She has accomplished amazing, award-winning feats and her music has received acclaim from all over the world.

Tems made history in 2022 by becoming the first-ever female African artist to win the BET Best International Act award, as well as the first-ever African artist (alongside Wizkid) to win a major BET award category: Best Collaboration Award.
